The story of Stephanie and her husband is really touching. It is a testament to me that no matter what, and I mean no matter what, a knowledge of truth found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ can help anyone endure through anything and not only that but endure it with a smile on your face.

Now that isn’t to say that we have to fake through our sorrows and times of sadness. There is a time and a season for everything, but those times do not have to be all the time. We can rise above.

One thing I love about the gospel is that when make apart of ourselves virtues and qualities like patience, charity, humility, loyalty, faithfulness the glitz and glamor of the world is pulled away and we can appreciate and love and see the true beauty in life. Cultivating those qualities within yourself is what will make a person truly beautiful. We will all get old and wrinkly. The clothes we buy this month won’t be “cool” a year from now. Those things do not last. But patience, kindness, and unconditional love for everyone does.

I testify in the name of Jesus Christ that He can help us become that person. He can help us look beyond and see the vision. The big picture of things that matter most. I hope that as we continue in this life that we will always strive to look beyond what we see with our own two eyes and look for the true beauty in everyone and cultivate those qualities within ourselves. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.
